Book on modern İstanbul, Şişli district. Research for the order within the chaos. Architectural propositions and interventions to improve the quality of the city life where an unstable economy, unstable political environment with a strong topographical character is present. Şişli website also functions as a city portal for the modern İstanbul based on the maps produced during the production of the book.

Şişli projesi 2005 yılında Aras Burak tarafından başlatılmış bir araştırmadır.

Geldiğimiz noktada İstanbul dediğimiz bir yerin aslında İstanbul ile bir alakası olmadığı, adının Şişli olduğunu ve İstanbul'un yaşına kıyasla komik sayılacak: sadece 100 yılık bir geçmişe sahip olduğunu anlatmak için başlatılmış bir proje.

Merkezinde mimarlık ve şehir olmasına rağmen bu yayının amacı mimar olmayanlarla birlikte hareket etmek.

Şişli'nin ne anlama geldiğini anlatmaya yardımcı olmak için çalışıyoruz çünkü Şişli'yi daha iyi anladığımızda İstanbul ile olan ilişkimizin çok daha sağlıklı olacağına inanıyoruz.
